and he was corroborated, as Abū Dāwūd said (2/611 - Ḥalabī edition): Mūsá ibn Ismāʿīl narrated to us: Wahīb narrated to us with it, except that he said: "and to You is the return" in the evening supplication as well. Ibn Ḥibbān narrated it in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (2354) through the route of ʿAbd al-Aʿlá ibn Ḥammād who narrated to us Wahīb with it. Except that he said: "and to You is the destination and to You is the return," combining them together in the morning supplication! It might be an error from some of the copyists. He was followed by Ḥammād, who is Ibn Salamah: Suhayl narrated to me with it, without the evening supplication, and he said: "and to You is the destination" instead of "and to You is the return." Aḥmad extracted it (2/354 - 522). Two others narrated it from Suhayl with it from his (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) statement and command, and it is the ḥadīth that follows: "When you wake up in the morning, say: O Allāh, by You we have entered the morning, and by You we have entered the evening, and by You we live, and by You we die (and to You is the return), and when you enter the evening, say: O Allāh, by You we have entered the evening, and by You we have entered the morning, and by You we live, and by You we die, and to You is the destination."
"When you wake up in the morning, say: O Allāh, by You we have entered the morning, and by You we have entered the evening, and by You we live, and by You we die (and to You is the return), and when you enter the evening, say: O Allāh, by You we have entered the evening, and by You we have entered the morning, and by You we live, and by You we die, and to You is the destination." Ibn Mājah extracted it (2/440): Yaʿqūb ibn Ḥumayd ibn Kāsib narrated to us: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Ḥāzim narrated to us from Suhayl from his father from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. I say: This is a good isnād, all its men are trustworthy, men of Muslim except Yaʿqūb ibn Ḥumayd. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Truthful, but he might make mistakes."
