Ibn Muḥammad: narrated to us Yaḥyá ibn ʿUmayr: narrated to us al-Maqburī from Abū Hurayrah with it; he did not say: "from his father," and he said: "from our relatives" instead of: "people of the Qurʾān"; and perhaps this is more accurate. And al-ʿAbbās ibn Muḥammad is al-Dūrī—he is trustworthy—I do not think it is possible for him to have heard from Yaḥyá ibn ʿUmayr; for this one is a follower of the followers, and that one was born in the year (185), so I think that Khālid ibn Makhlad is between them; for they mentioned him among the teachers of al-Dūrī and among the narrators from Yaḥyá ibn ʿUmayr. And there is a more complete witness for the ḥadīth, but in its isnād there is anonymity and disconnection, and for that reason, I included it in the other book (6300). *
- (By the One in whose hand is my soul! If you were to continue until none of you remained, the valley would flow with fire because of you). It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá in "his Musnad" (3/468/1979) - and through his route: Ibn Ḥibbān (6877 - Ṭ: al-Muʾassasah): narrated to us Zakarīyā ibn Yaḥyá said: narrated to us Hushaym from Ḥuṣayn from Sālim ibn Abī al-Jaʿd and Abū Sufyān from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh who said: While the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was delivering the khuṭbah on Friday, a caravan arrived in Madīnah, and the Companions of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) rushed to it until only twelve men remained with him. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said:..! He mentioned it, and this verse was revealed: (And when they see a transaction or a diversion, they rush to it and leave you standing) (al-Jumuʿah: 11), and he said: Among the twelve who remained with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) were Abū Bakr and ʿUmar. I say: And this isnād is authentic, its men are trustworthy; except that Hushaym is a mudallis and he used the term ʿanʿanah, but he explicitly stated the transmission in Muslim (3/10): narrated to us Ismāʿīl ibn Sālim: informed us Hushaym: informed us Ḥuṣayn with it, except that he did not mention the ḥadīth of the chapter
