I said: And he remained silent about it, as if he indicated by that its strengthening with what he presented before it from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah through its two chains from him. And Allāh knows best. *

- (And what am I to the world?! And what am I to adornment?!). It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd (4149), Aḥmad (2/21), Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (13/239/16221), and Ibn Ḥibbān (8/91/6319) through the route of Ibn Numayr: Faḍl ibn Ghazwān narrated to us from Nāfiʿ from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar: that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) came to Fāṭimah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā), and found a curtain at her door, so he did not enter. He said: And he would rarely enter except that he would begin with her. ʿAlī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) came and saw her distressed, and said: What is the matter with you?! She said: The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) came to me; but did not enter. So ʿAlī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) went to him and said: O Messenger of Allāh! Fāṭimah is troubled because you came to her but did not enter upon her?! He said: ... (and he mentioned the ḥadīth), so he went to Fāṭimah and informed her of the words of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and she said: Tell the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): What does he command me to do? He said: "Tell her: Let her send it to the sons of so-and-so." I said: And this is a ṣaḥīḥ isnād according to the conditions of the two shaykhs, and Ibn Numayr's name is ʿAbd Allāh, Abū Hishām al-Kūfī. The ḥāfiẓ said: "A reliable ḥadīth narrator from the people of the sunnah." And he was followed by Muḥammad ibn Faḍl from his father with a similar narration, and in it: "And it was a decorated curtain"; meaning: adorned and embroidered
