he is trustworthy from the people of Jordan. Ibn ʿAsākir said (11/554): "He came to al-Jābiyah and heard Anas ibn Mālik narrating to the caliph." It seems he is referring to this ḥadīth. Al-Bukhārī mentioned it in "al-Tārīkh" (3/1/87), and from him Ibn ʿAsākir (9/189), saying: "Muḥammad ibn Muhājir said: from ʿUrwah ibn Ruwaym from Abū Khālid al-Ḥarashī from Anas..." He inserted Abū Khālid al-Ḥarashī between ʿUrwah and Anas, whom I do not know. Al-Dūlābī connected it in his biography in "al-Kuná" (1/163) through the route of Abū Tūbah al-Rabīʿ ibn Nāfiʿ who said: Muḥammad ibn Muhājir narrated to us with it. I said: Al-Dūlābī did not name him, nor did al-Dhahabī mention him in "al-Muqtaná" at all, and Allāh knows best. Then Ibn ʿAsākir narrated it—in the biography of ʿUrwah—with a weak isnād from ʿUrwah from Anas with it similar to the narration of Aḥmad, but he replaced Muʿāwiyah with ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Marwān, and it explicitly mentions ʿUrwah's presence in that gathering. Then al-Bukhārī and Ibn ʿAsākir mentioned it from the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Rāshid: he heard ʿUrwah ibn Ruwaym from Anas with it. This Ibn Rāshid was deemed trustworthy by Abū Mushir and Ibn Ḥibbān (7/35). Then they mentioned it from the route of Sulaymān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān: ʿAbd al-Karīm ibn Muḥammad al-Lakhmī narrated to me: ʿUrwah ibn Ruwaym narrated to us: I heard Anas—may Allāh be pleased with him... This was connected by Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/156), and Ibn ʿAsākir (10/434)
