There is another chain for his ḥadīth with the wording of the translation in the introduction of "Mawḍūʿāt Ibn al-Jawzī" (1/62) involving ʿUmar ibn Ṣāliḥ narrated by Khālid ibn Makhlad from him. As for ʿUmar, Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned him (3/1/116) with this narration and said: "I asked my father about him? He said: He is not strong." As for Ibn Ḥibbān, he mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (8/443), and see my commentary on it in "al-Taysīr." Third: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr; it was narrated by Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb from ʿAmr ibn al-Walīd from him who said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say ... and he mentioned it. It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/158 and 171). I say: This isnād is good. Fourth: from ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir; narrated by Abū ʿAshānah: that he heard ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir say ... and he mentioned it as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/159 and 201), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (17/301 and 305/832 and 843) from two chains from him. I say: Its isnād is authentic, and Abū ʿUshānah's name is Ḥayy ibn Yuʾman, and he is trustworthy. Al-Haythamī said (1/144): "It was narrated by Aḥmad, al-Bazzār, and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr," and its men are trustworthy."
