"Qabīṣah narrated to us: ʿUbayd ibn Ṭufayl narrated to us: Shaddād narrated." Then this Shaddād's father's name is not mentioned by al-Bukhārī, but it appears as "ʿUmārah" in "al-Thiqāt" and similarly in "Tartīb" by al-Haythamī. Perhaps the correct version is what is in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ," as it aligns with what is in "al-Jarḥ," and Allāh knows best. The ḥadīth is attributed by al-Suyūṭī in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr" to Abū Nuʿaym from Ḥudhayfah with the wording: "A time will come upon the people..." etc.; however, he said: "from earthquakes, tribulations, and calamities." The unrestricted attribution to Abū Nuʿaym implies it is in "al-Ḥilyah," but I did not find it there, even with the help of its indexes, nor in "Akhbār Aṣbahān," using both my index and others'. So Allāh knows best. The ḥadīth is mentioned by al-Haythamī in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (7/284-285) with the wording of al-Ṭabarānī: "A time will come upon the people..." the ḥadīth; however, it appears as: "al-ʿanāʾ wa-al-ʿanāʾ!" repeated like this; and it can be read likewise from a copy of "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ," and perhaps the correct version is what I have established above. *
