and he did not attribute it here to Muslim; rather, he referred to its extraction in the first place. It was his duty to mention this there to fulfill the trust, but he did not do so in order to avoid criticism from some ignorant people—who are false—claiming that he criticized Muslim's ḥadīth! So the outcome was that he was rightfully criticized!!

(I am holding you back from the Fire by your waistbands; I say: Beware of Hell! Beware of the limits! When I die, I will be your predecessor and your appointment at the Basin, and whoever reaches it will succeed. Then a people will come and will be taken to the left, and I will say: O my Lord, my community! It will be said: You do not know what they innovated after you, turning back on their heels). It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (12/71/12508): Jaʿfar ibn Aḥmad al-Shāmī al-Kūfī narrated to us: Abū Kurayb narrated to us: Mukhtār ibn Ghassān narrated from Abū Maḥyāh Yaḥyā ibn Yaʿlá from his father from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Saʿīd ibn Jubayr from his father from Ibn ʿAbbās from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said ... and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is acceptable as supporting evidence, and it includes the following: 1- Yaʿlá—who is the son of Ḥurmalah al-Taymī, the father of Yaḥyā—was not authenticated by anyone other than Ibn Ḥibbān (5/556), and no one narrated from him except his son. 2- Mukhtār ibn Ghassān; no one authenticated him, and "al-Tahdhīb" mentions two other narrators for him: Ibrāhīm ibn Ismāʿīl al-Ṭalḥī and Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī al-Asadī, and I do not know them. 3- Jaʿfar ibn Aḥmad al-Shāmī al-Kūfī, I did not find a biography for him, and he is not among the well-known shaykhs of al-Ṭabarānī; for he only narrated four ḥadīths from him in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (1/192/1); one of them is in "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 65- Hindiyyah) number (63- al-Rawḍ al-Naḍīr)
