and it was authenticated by al-Baghawī (2019) and Ibn Ḥibbān (3731 and 3732); refer to "Musnad Abī Yaʿlá" (10/347/5943), where the commentator expanded on its chains and some of its corroborating reports. (Note): al-Suyūṭī included the ḥadīth of the chapter with both wordings in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr" from the narration of Ibn ʿAsākir alone! It is also in "Kanz al-ʿUmmāl" (14/160/38231), but he missed that al-Tirmidhī narrated it—like Ibn ʿAsākir—with the first wording! *

- (When a man says: "The people have perished," he is the most destructive of them). It was narrated by Mālik in "al-Muwaṭṭaʾ" (3/148), Muslim (8/36), al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (759), Abū Dāwūd (4983), Ibn Ḥibbān in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (5732), Aḥmad (2/272, 342, 465, 517), and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (7/141) and "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/150, 276, 2/364), and al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (13/144) through various chains from Suhayl ibn Abī Ṣāliḥ from his father from Abū Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said... and he mentioned it. Al-Baghawī said: "This is a ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth, narrated by Muslim." *

- (Indeed, Mūsá was a modest and reserved man, and nothing of his skin was seen out of modesty. Some of the Children of Israel harmed him, saying: "He only covers himself so much because of a defect in his skin; either leprosy, a scrotal hernia, or some other ailment." And Allāh wanted to clear him of what they said about Mūsá, so one day he was alone, placed his clothes on a stone, and bathed. When he finished, he approached his clothes to take them, and the stone ran off with his garment. Mūsá took his staff and chased the stone, saying: "My garment, O stone!"
