ʿAbd al-Majīd has a slight issue; however, he has been corroborated as you will see. except that ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUmar has been corroborated in his chain; Aḥmad said (2/155): ʿUthmān ibn ʿUmar narrated to us: ʿĪsá ibn Ḥafṣ ibn ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUmar narrated to us from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar: that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Whoever is patient..." the ḥadīth. Muslim also recorded it (4/119) through the route of Zuhayr ibn Ḥarb: ʿUthmān ibn ʿUmar narrated to us with it. Ayyūb also corroborated it from Nāfiʿ with the wording: "Whoever is able to die in Medina, let him die there; for I will intercede for those who die there." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (3917), Ibn Mājah (3112), Ibn Ḥibbān (3733 - al-Iḥsān), Aḥmad (2/74), and al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (7/324/2020), and he and al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan ḥadīth." al-Tirmidhī added "ṣaḥīḥ gharīb" and ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUmar has another chain; he narrates from Qaṭan ibn Wahb from a female servant of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar: that she wanted to leave during the turmoil, and the times became hard for her, so she consulted ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar, and he said: Where? She said: Iraq. He said: Why not to al-Shām to the place of gathering?! Be patient, you foolish one!... the ḥadīth is like his previous narration from Nāfiʿ; but with the second wording. It was also recorded by Ibn ʿAsākir through the route of Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Salīm al-Mukharramī: al-Zubayr ibn Bakkār ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us: Abū Ḍumrah narrated to me from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUmar with it
