I said: meaning that the correct version of the ḥadīth from ʿAmr ibn Yaḥyá from his father is mursal as narrated by Mālik, and we have no doubt about that. Although al-Darāwardī is reliable among the narrators of Muslim, there is some minor criticism regarding his memory, so his contradiction to a reliable narrator is not accepted, especially if it is someone like Mālik, may Allāh have mercy on him. The ḥadīth was also recorded by al-Dāraqutnī (p. 522) connected from the previous source but without the addition: "Whoever harms..." Then I saw it was recorded elsewhere (p. 321) from the mentioned source with the addition. As for the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās, it is narrated from him by ʿIkrimah, and there are three paths from him: the first is from Jābir al-Juʿfī from him. It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (2/57) and Aḥmad (1/313), both from ʿAbd al-Razzāq: informed us by Maʿmar from Jābir al-Juʿfī from him. Ibn Rajab said: "Most have weakened Jābir al-Juʿfī." The second is from Ibrāhīm ibn Ismāʿīl from Dāwūd ibn al-Ḥuṣayn from ʿIkrimah from him. It was recorded by al-Dāraqutnī (522). Ibn Rajab said: "A group has weakened Ibrāhīm, and the narrations of Dāwūd from ʿIkrimah are denounced." I said: But he was followed by Saʿīd ibn Abī Ayyūb at al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (3/127/1), who said: Aḥmad ibn Rushdīn al-Miṣrī informed us, Rūḥ ibn Ṣalāḥ informed us, Saʿīd ibn Abī Ayyūb informed us from Dāwūd ibn al-Ḥuṣayn from him, except that he stopped it at Ibn ʿAbbās. But the chain is weak, for Rūḥ ibn Ṣalāḥ is weak. And Ibn Rushdīn was accused of lying, so the follow-up is not established.
