I said: This is a sound isnād, all its narrators are reliable, the narrators of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim]; except for al-Ḥasan ibn Yūnus al-Zayyāt, who was trustworthy as al-Khaṭīb said, and he mentioned that a group of reliable narrators reported from him, such as Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Ṣāʿid, and al-Muḥāmilī. I said: Among them is al-Bazzār in his "Musnad" (1/209/415). However, al-Dāraqutnī and al-Bayhaqī indicated that the phrase "three days" is anomalous; Huraym differed in it from a group of reliable narrators who did not mention it, and the ḥāfiẓ explicitly stated this, saying in "al-Fatḥ" after mentioning two other phrases: "two nights," and: "after a month" (3/305): "These are anomalous narrations, and the context of the authentic paths indicates that he prayed over him on the morning of his burial." And it is as he said, may Allāh have mercy on him, and I have extracted some of the paths referred to in "al-Irwāʾ" (3/183/736/2), and some of them explicitly indicate what he said. However, I say: The ḥadīth of the chapter is supported by other ḥadīths; the strongest of which is the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu): that a black woman used to clean the mosque, and she died, and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) missed her, so he asked about her after some days, and it was said: She has died. He said: "Why did you not inform me?" So he went to her grave and prayed over her. It was narrated by the two Shaykhs, and others like Ibn Mājah and al-Bayhaqī, and the context is theirs, and it is extracted in "Aḥkām al-Janāʾiz" (113 - al-Maʿārif)
