then it was also recorded by Muslim (1/75), and Aḥmad (4/312) through two other chains from al-Ḥasan with similar content. (Note): In this isnād, there is an important benefit that I have not seen anyone highlight, and some books contain information contrary to it. Ibn Abī Ḥātim said in the biography of al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī, after mentioning from his father: that he heard from a group of Companions, but did not hear from another group of them. Abū Ḥātim said: "He did not authentically hear from Jundub." This was quoted by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Tahdhīb" and he affirmed it! Whereas, al-Mizzī critiqued it in his original "Tahdhīb al-Kamāl" by explicitly stating the transmission in this isnād! It seems they did not come across it; or at least they did not recall this isnād; rather, these arenads that are authentic from al-Ḥasan explicitly stating his hearing from Jundub, and confirming it by saying: "in this mosque.........". There are other ḥadīths in which al-Ḥasan (may Allāh have mercy on him) explicitly stated his hearing from Jundub (may Allāh be pleased with him); like the ḥadīth in "Muʿjam al-Ṭabarānī" (no. 1660). The ḥadīth of the biography has been previously mentioned under no.: (1485).
