"When he would begin the prayer, he said: 'Glory be to You, O Allāh, and praise be to You. Blessed is Your name, exalted is Your majesty, and there is no deity other than You.'" It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Duʿāʾ" (2/1034/506): narrated to us by Maḥmūd ibn Muḥammad al-Wāsiṭī: narrated to us by Zakarīyā ibn Yaḥyá, Zahmūyah: narrated to us by al-Faḍl ibn Mūsá al-Sīnānī, from Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl from Anas ibn Mālik (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic; all its narrators are trustworthy and well-known, except for Maḥmūd ibn Muḥammad al-Wāsiṭī, who is (Ibn Manūyah - with a nūn -) the reliable, knowledgeable ḥāfiẓ, as mentioned in "Siyar al-Dhahabī" (14/242). He is one of the well-known shaykhs of al-Ṭabarānī, for he narrated over a hundred ḥadīths from him in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (2/192/2 - 198/2). These are their numbers from my photographed and numbered copy (7945 - 8047), and he did not narrate it alone as will be shown. His shaykh Zakarīyā ibn Yaḥyá, and (Zahmūyah) is his nickname as in "al-Tabsīr" (2/595) by the ḥāfiẓ, and it is mentioned in "al-Lisān" that he is trustworthy, narrated by Abū Zurʿah and Abū Yaʿlá.. and Ibn Ḥibbān included him in "al-Ṣaḥīḥ". I say: It was omitted that he mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (8/253) and said: "He was among the proficient." He frequently narrated from him in "al-Ṣaḥīḥ", so see the numbers of his ḥadīths in "Fahris al-Muʾassasah" (18/132). Likewise, Baḥshal frequently narrated from him in "Tārīkh Wāsiṭ", and he gave him a brief biography, nicknamed him Abū Muḥammad, and said (p. 197): "He had a white head and beard."
