"and that is because he had nothing of what a man has except like this stick, and for that reason Allāh called him * (a noble, chaste, and a prophet from among the righteous) *." Its isnād is good, and Ibn Abī Ḥātim included it in his "Tafsīr" (2/2/1) through another route from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd, except that he said: "from Ibn al-ʿĀṣ, it is not known whether it is ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr or ʿAmr." Its isnād is authentic, and Ibn Kathīr found it strange (1/361), but I do not see any reason for that, as he did not encounter the other route with al-Ṭabarī and Ibn ʿAsākir. Al-Haythamī said in the narration of al-Bazzār: "And its men are trustworthy." I say: Its isnād is authentic, all its men are trustworthy, the men of al-Bukhārī except for his teacher Muḥammad ibn al-Walīd - who is al-Baghdādī - al-Dhahabī said: "Trustworthy." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful." The wording of his ḥadīth: "No one should say: I am better than Yaḥyá ibn Zakariyyā, he did not commit a sin, I think he said: nor did he perform it." 3 - Abū Hurayrah, narrated by Abū al-Azhar Ḥajjāj ibn Sulaymān from al-Layth ibn Saʿd from Muḥammad ibn ʿAjlān from al-Qaʿqāʿ from Abū Ṣāliḥ from him, elevated with the wording: "Every son of Adam meets Allāh with a sin he has committed, and He punishes him for it if He wills or has mercy on him, except for Yaḥyá ibn Zakariyyā who was * (a noble, chaste, and a prophet from among the righteous) *." then the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) reached for a speck from the ground and said: "Their mention was like this speck."
