that Jibrīl used to review the Qurʾān with him once every year, and indeed he reviewed it with me this year twice, and I do not see the end except that it is near. So fear Allāh and be patient, for I am a good predecessor for you. I said: So I cried the crying you saw, and when he saw my distress, he whispered to me a second time and said: (then he mentioned the ḥadīth) [so I laughed the laughter you saw]. The context is from al-Bukhārī, and the addition is from Muslim, and those below them have similar narrations. Muslim added in a narration after her saying: "Then she laughed": "I said: I have not seen a day with joy closer to sorrow." It is a narration for al-Bukhārī (3623) and in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (1030) part of it. Then it was also narrated by him, Muslim, Ibn Ḥibbān (6915), al-Nasāʾī, and others through other routes in a shortened form that does not mention the two words or the virtue of Fāṭimah, except in a narration by al-Nasāʾī and Ibn Ḥibbān (6913) through Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr from Abū Salamah from her in a shortened form, and at the end: "He informed me that I would be the first of his family to join him, and that I am the leader of the women of Paradise except for Maryam bint ʿImrān, so I laughed." Its isnād is good, and this addition has a corroborating narration from the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, whose extraction was previously mentioned under number (796). And for the word "predecessor" from his saying (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), there is a corroborating narration from Ibn Isḥāq from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Rāfiʿ from Umm Salamah who said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) on this minbar saying: "I am a predecessor for you at al-Kawthar."
