as for his prayer (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) in his sandals mentioned at the end of the ḥadīth of the chapter, it has many supporting narrations that reach the level of tawātur in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs" and others, and some of them are included in "Ṣaḥīḥ Abū Dāwūd" (657, 658, 659, and 660).

- "Allāh said: I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he calls upon Me." It was narrated by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (616): Khalīfah ibn Khayyāṭ told us: Kathīr ibn Hishām told us: Jaʿfar narrated from Yazīd ibn al-Aṣam from Abū Hurayrah from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic, all its narrators are those of the Ṣaḥīḥ, and it was also narrated by Muslim (8/66) through the route of Wakīʿ from Jaʿfar ibn Burqān with it. And it has another route with an addition in its text with the wording: ".. My servant is as he thinks of Me, and I am with him when he calls upon Me. If he remembers Me to himself, I remember him to Myself, and if he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a gathering better and more noble than theirs. If he comes closer to Me by a span, I come closer to him by a cubit, and if he comes closer to Me by a cubit, I come closer to him by a fathom, and if he comes to Me walking, I come to him running." It was narrated by Aḥmad (2/480): Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar told us: Shuʿbah narrated from Sulaymān from Dhakwān from Abū Hurayrah with it. And this isnād is authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs. And from this route, it was narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān (2/91/809) up to the phrase: "and more noble." And it is in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs" through another route from Sulaymān - who is al-Aʿmash - with the wording:
