as for al-Dhahabī, he said afterward: "I said: Abū al-Munīb ʿUbayd Allāh was strengthened by Abū Ḥātim, and al-Nasāʾī used him as evidence." The ḥadīth is authentic, as it has appeared separately in several ḥadīths: 1 - Sitting between the shade and the sun. There are ḥadīths about this from Abū Hurayrah and others, some of which I have previously referenced (837 and 838) and (3110). 2 - Sitting with one's knees drawn up in a garment. There are ḥadīths about this from Abū Saʿīd and Abū Hurayrah, in the "Ṣaḥīḥayn," and from ʿĀʾishah in Ibn Mājah and others. 3 - Praying in a garment without wrapping oneself in it. 4 - Praying in trousers without a cloak. In these, there is a ḥadīth from Buraydah: "He forbade praying in a quilt without wrapping oneself in it, and praying in trousers without a cloak." This portion was narrated by Abū Dāwūd and others in the ḥadīth of Buraydah as well, and it is recorded in "Ṣaḥīḥ Abū Dāwūd" (646). Al-Khaṭīb narrated (5/138) through the route of al-Ḥusayn ibn Wāqid - the original: Wardān! - from Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir: that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) forbade praying in trousers. It is recorded in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" (4721). Al-Khaṭīb narrated from Abū Bakr al-Nīsābūrī that he said: "The fiqh of this ḥadīth is that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) forbade praying in trousers alone."
