and the more likely opinion is that it is ḥasan in ḥadīth when he explicitly states the narration, and it has been confirmed that he did so, as will be mentioned in various narrations from him. Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyá ibn Ḥabān is a trustworthy tābiʿī from the narrators of the two Shaykhs, and it appears that he narrated it in a mursal form, but it has been confirmed as connected by mentioning Ibn ʿUmar in it. Ibn Abī Shaybah recorded it in "al-Muṣannaf" (14/228/18177): ʿAbbād ibn al-ʿAwām narrated to us from Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyá ibn Ḥabān who said: Ibn al-Zubayr only made the warranty of the companion three days because the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to Munqidh ibn ʿAmr: "No deception, if you sell something, you have the option for three days." Al-Dāraqutnī also recorded it in "his Sunan" (3/55/220) through the route of Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿAbbās al-Bāhilī, who informed us: ʿAbd al-Aʿlá from Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq informed us: Nāfiʿ that ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar narrated to him: "A man from the Anṣār had a speech impediment and was often cheated in sales. He came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and mentioned that to him. The Prophet said: 'When you sell, say: No deception (twice).'" Muḥammad said: and Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyá ibn Ḥabān narrated to me: he is my grandfather... I said: he mentioned it similar to the narration of Ibn Mājah, and added: "He lived a long life, reaching one hundred and thirty years, and during the time of ʿUthmān (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu), when people became numerous, he would buy in the market and return to his family having been badly cheated. They would blame him and say: Why did you buy? He would say: I have the option, if I am pleased, I will keep it, and if I am displeased, I will return it. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) gave me the option for three days. He would return the item to its owner the next day or the day after, and the owner would say: By Allāh, I will not accept it, you have taken my goods and given me money. He would say: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) has given me the option for three days."
