a third witness: ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Ṣāliḥ narrates: Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh told us from al-Aʿmash from Abū Ṣāliḥ from Abū Hurayrah who said: the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) laughed and said, "I am amazed at people who are led to Paradise in chains while they are unwilling." It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (8/307). I say: its isnād is good. Kāmil Abū al-ʿAlāʾ corroborated it, saying: I heard Abū Ṣāliḥ narrate it in a concise form with the wording: "Our Lord is amazed at people who are led to Paradise in chains." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/448). Muḥammad ibn Ziyād corroborated it from Abū Hurayrah with the same narration. It was recorded by al-Bukhārī and others, and it is included in "Ẓilāl al-Jannah" (573) and "Ṣaḥīḥ Abī Dāwūd" (2401). Al-Bukhārī also recorded it (4557) through the route of Abū Ḥāzim from Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu): *"You are the best nation produced for mankind"* He said: "The best of people for people, you bring them in chains around their necks until they enter into Islam." I say: this is a mawqūf narration in the ruling of marfūʿ, as evidenced by the previous routes.
