to the left, and I will plead with the Lord of the worlds concerning you, saying: O Lord, my community! It will be said: You do not know what they innovated after you; they used to walk backwards after you. So let none of you come on the Day of Resurrection carrying a sheep that bleats, calling: O Muḥammad, O Muḥammad! I will say: I have no power to help you with Allāh; I have conveyed [the message]. And let none of you come on the Day of Resurrection carrying a camel that bellows, calling: O Muḥammad, O Muḥammad! I will say: I have no power to help you with Allāh; I have conveyed [the message]. And let none of you come on the Day of Resurrection carrying a horse that neighs, calling: O Muḥammad, O Muḥammad! I will say: I have no power to help you with Allāh; I have conveyed [the message]. And let none of you come on the Day of Resurrection carrying a bundle of leather, calling: O Muḥammad, O Muḥammad! I will say: I have no power to help you with Allāh; I have conveyed [the message]. It was recorded by al-Bazzār (1/426/900) and al-Rāmahurmuzī in "al-Amthāl" (21-22) through two chains from Mālik ibn Ismāʿīl: Yaʿqūb ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Qummī narrated to us from Ḥafṣ ibn Ḥumayd from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās from ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allāh be pleased with them) who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is good. Al-Bazzār said after it: "We do not know it from ʿUmar except through this isnād, and we do not know anyone who narrated from Ḥafṣ except al-Qummī." I said: He was also narrated from by Ashʿath ibn Isḥāq, as in "al-Jarḥ wa-al-Taʿdīl" (1/2/171), and it was narrated from Ibn Maʿīn that he said about him: "Righteous."
