and he concluded his biography by saying: "As for al-Ḥusayn al-Qabbānī, he accused him of lying, and he exaggerated." Then, I did not find a biography for Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ ibn Hāniʾ. However, I found another chain for the ḥadīth with a reliable isnād. Al-Bazzār said in his "al-Baḥr al-Zakhkhār - 267," and (1/104/185 - Kashf al-Astār): ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb al-Sijistānī narrated to us, Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mundhir narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Ṣadaqah al-Fadakī narrated to us, Mālik narrated from Zayd ibn Aslam from his father from ʿUmar who said: "A letter was written to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and he said to ʿAbdullāh ibn Arqam: 'Reply to them,' so ʿAbdullāh ibn Arqam took it and wrote it, then he brought the letter and presented it to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: 'You have done well.' This remained in my heart until I took charge, so I placed it in the treasury." Al-Bazzār said: "We do not know anyone who narrated it like this except Mālik." I said: But al-Dāraqutnī criticized it in his book "al-ʿIlal" (2/143-144) by saying: "This ḥadīth is solely narrated by Muḥammad ibn Ṣadaqah al-Fadakī - and he is not well-known, but there is no harm in him - from Mālik from Zayd ibn Aslam from his father from ʿUmar, while others narrate it from Mālik as mursal, and that is the correct version." I said: And this al-Fadakī was mentioned by Ibn Ḥibbān in "al-Thiqāt" (9/67) and he said: "His ḥadīth is considered if he clarifies the hearing, for he used to practice tadlīs." I said: He explicitly stated the narration here and the chain to him is authentic, so the isnād is good if it is..
