and another witness from the route of Sulaymān ibn Qutah from Ibn ʿAbbās who recited: * (a deed that was not righteous) *. It was recorded by Ibn Jarīr al-Ṭabarī in "Tafsīr" (12/33): Ibn Wakiʿ narrated to us, saying: Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us from Mūsá ibn Abī ʿĀʾishah from Sulaymān ibn Qutah with it. I said: This isnād has trustworthy men except for Ibn Wakiʿ, whose name is Sufyān, and he is weak as al-Dhahabī said in "al-Kāshif," and al-Ḥāfiẓ explained the reason for his weakness in "al-Taqrīb": "He was truthful but was afflicted by his scribe, who introduced into his work what was not from his ḥadīth, and he was advised but did not accept, so his ḥadīth was rejected." Perhaps it is also suitable for testimony what was narrated by Qatādah and others from ʿIkrimah who said: "In some of the readings, it is 'he did a deed that was not righteous.'" Its isnād to ʿIkrimah is authentic. In conclusion, the ḥadīth with all these routes is authentic to me, especially since a group from the Salaf recited with this reading as mentioned by Ibn Jarīr, even though he favored the reading of the majority of the reciters: * (indeed, he did a deed that was not righteous) *, so refer to it if you wish. (Note): The ḥadīth of the chapter was attributed by al-Suyūṭī in "al-Durr al-Manthūr" (3/336) to al-Bukhārī in "Tārīkh" and Ibn Mardawayh and al-Khaṭīb from the routes of ʿĀʾishah. He said: "from the routes," so if this is authentic, the ḥadīth gains strength from it. And Allāh knows best. Then I found the biography of Ḥumayd al-Azraq - through the guidance of one of the brothers, may Allāh reward him well - in "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān" (4/148-149), where he mentioned him among the (followers) and named his father "Zādawiyah al-Azraq," and said:
وشاهد آخر منطريق سليمان بن قتة عن ابن عباس أنه قرأ: * (عمل غير صالح) *. أخرجه ابن جريرالطبري في " تفسيره " (١٢ / ٣٣) : حدثنا ابن وكيع قال: حدثنا ابن عيينة عنموسى بن أبي عائشة عن سليمان بن قتة به. قلت: وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات غير ابن وكيع واسمه سفيان وهو ضعيف كما قال الذهبي في " الكاشف "، وقال الحافظ في "التقريب " مبينا سبب ضعفه: " كان صدوقا إلا أنه ابتلى بوراقه، فأدخل عليه ماليس من حديثه فنصح فلم يقبل فسقط حديثه ". ولعله يصلح للشهادة أيضا ما رواه قتادة وغيره عن عكرمة قال: " في بعض الحروف أنه عمل عملا غير صالح ". وإسناده إلى عكرمة صحيح. وجملة القول أن الحديث بمجموع هذه الطرق صحيح عندي، ولاسيما وقد قرأ بهذه القراءة التي جاءت فيه جماعة من السلف كما ذكر ابن جرير، وإن كان رجح هو قراءة جماهير القراء: * (إنه عمل غير صالح) *، فراجعه إن شئت. (تنبيه) : حديث الترجمة عزاه السيوطي في " الدر المنثور " (٣ / ٣٣٦) للبخاري في " تاريخه " وابن مردويه والخطيب من طرق عن عائشة. كذا قال: " من طرق "، فإذا صح ذلك فالحديث يزداد قوة بها. والله أعلم. ثم وجدت ترجمة حميد الأزرق - بدلالة أحد الإخوة جزاه الله خيرا - في " ثقات ابن حبان " (٤ / ١٤٨ -١٤٩) أورده في (التابعين) وسمى أباه " زاذويه الأزرق "، وقال:
