ṭalḥah said: "I will." Ṭalḥah fought with the strength of eleven men until his hand was struck and his fingers were cut off. He said, "Ouch," and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: (the ḥadīth is mentioned), then Allāh repelled the polytheists. It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī (no. 3149), al-Bayhaqī in "Dalāʾil al-Nubuwwah" (3/236-237), Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Maʿrifah" (24/2), and Ibn ʿAsākir in "al-Tārīkh" (8/548 and 549) from ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah from him. I say: This isnād is according to the conditions of Muslim, except that it includes the ʿanʿanah of Abū al-Zubayr, and al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Kathīr was silent about it in "al-Bidāyah" (4/26), but it is strengthened by what follows. Secondly - from Ṭalḥah, narrated by Sulaymān ibn Ayyūb: My father told us from my grandfather from Mūsá ibn Ṭalḥah from his father in a summarized form with the wording: When it was the day of Uḥud, an arrow struck me, and I said: "Ouch," etc., without his saying: "then Allāh repelled the polytheists." Al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (9/149): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and in it is Sulaymān ibn Ayyūb al-Ṭalḥī, who has been deemed trustworthy, but some have weakened him, and there are people in it whom I do not know." Thus he said: and there is no one unknown in it except the grandfather of Sulaymān ibn Ayyūb, whose name is Sulaymān ibn ʿĪsá ibn Mūsá ibn Ṭalḥah, as it appears in the isnād of the first ḥadīth in what Ṭalḥah narrated from "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (1/75/214), for I did not know him either. As for his son, Ayyūb ibn Sulaymān, Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned him (1/1/248) with the narration of his son Sulaymān from him, and he did not mention any criticism or commendation of him, and I think he is the one mentioned by Ibn Ḥibbān in "Tabaqāt al-Tabiʿīn" from "Thiqāt" (8/127):
