(Note): The ḥadīth appeared in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" with the wording: "the ẓuhr prayer," instead of "he prayed ẓuhr," and its editor Maḥmūd Ibrāhīm Zāyid said: "This is how it appears in the manuscript, and I did not find it in the references I have, and it seems that the original is: so he prayed the ẓuhr prayer"! I said: this is how the verification should be! Do you not have "Sunan Abī Dāwūd" at least to correct it with?! The correct version is: "he prayed ẓuhr," and I suspect that the word "prayed" was altered by the copyist to "prayer"!

- "he used to spend the night with Abū Bakr discussing matters concerning the Muslims, and I was with them. Meaning ʿUmar." It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (no. 169), Ibn Ḥibbān (276), al-Bayhaqī (1/452), and Aḥmad (1/25) through the route of Abū Muʿāwiyah from al-Aʿmash from Ibrāhīm from ʿAlqamah from ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb who said: and he mentioned it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan ḥadīth, and this ḥadīth was narrated by al-Ḥasan ibn ʿUbayd Allāh from Ibrāhīm from ʿAlqamah from a man from Jufī called: 'Qays' or 'Ibn Qays' from ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) this ḥadīth in a long story." I said: al-Bayhaqī connected it through the route of ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Ziyād: al-Ḥasan ibn ʿUbayd Allāh narrated it to us, he said: "and he mentioned the story in its meaning, except that he did not mention the story of spending the night." Likewise, Aḥmad connected it (1/38) from this route. But he narrated it from the route of Abū Muʿāwiyah also, he said - in continuation of the first narration -:
