from Saʿīd ibn Samʿān who said: I heard Abū Hurayrah narrating to Abū Qatādah that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is authentic, its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of al-Bukhārī and Muslim, except for Saʿīd ibn Samʿān, who is trustworthy as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb." The ḥadīth is attributed in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr" to Ibn Abī Shaybah and Ibn ʿAsākir only, and al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Fatḥ" (3/461) limited its attribution to Aḥmad and remained silent on it, so it is considered ḥasan or ṣaḥīḥ by him. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim!" and it was refuted by al-Dhahabī, who said: "I say: they did not include anything from Ibn Samʿān, nor did anyone narrate from him [except] Ibn Abī Dhīʾb, and he was criticized." I said: No one criticized him except al-Azdī, and therefore al-Ḥāfiẓ refuted him in "al-Taqrīb": "Trustworthy, al-Azdī was mistaken in weakening him." I said: al-Azdī has a tendency to be strict in weakening, as al-Dhahabī himself pointed out in some biographies, and Ibn Samʿān was deemed trustworthy by al-Nasāʾī, al-Dāraqutnī, and Ibn Ḥibbān. As for his statement: "nor did Ibn Abī Dhīʾb narrate from him," I think the word "except" was omitted by him or the copyist, as he himself confirmed his narration from him in "al-Kāshif" and paired him with another! It has also been transmitted through two other chains from Abū Hurayrah in a concise elevated form with the wording: "The Kaʿbah will be destroyed by a man with thin legs from Abyssinia." The first chain: from al-Zuhrī from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from him. It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (1596), Muslim (8/183), Aḥmad (2/310), al-Dānī in "al-Fitan" (p. 69/2), Ibn Abī Shaybah (15/47), and al-Azraqī (1/276)
عن سعيد بن سمعانقال: سمعت أبا هريرة يحدث أبا قتادة أن النبي ﷺ قال:فذكره. قلت: وهذا إسناد صحيح، رجاله ثقات رجال الشيخين غير سعيد بن سمعان،وهو ثقة كما في " التقريب ". والحديث عزاه في " الجامع الكبير " لابن أبيشيبة وابن عساكر فقط، واقتصر الحافظ في " الفتح " (٣ / ٤٦١) على عزوهلأحمد، وسكت عليه، فهو عنده حسن أو صحيح، وقال الحاكم: " صحيح على شرطالشيخين "! ورده الذهبي بقوله: " قلت: ما خرجا لابن سمعان شيئا، ولا روىعنه [غير] ابن أبي ذئب، وقد تكلم فيه ". قلت: لم يتكلم فيه غير الأزدي،ولذلك رده الحافظ في " التقريب ": " ثقة، لم يصب الأزدي في تضعيفه ". قلت:والأزدي عنده تشدد في التضعيف، نبه على ذلك الذهبي نفسه في بعض التراجم،وابن سمعان وثقه النسائي والدارقطني وابن حبان. وأما قوله: " ولا روى عنهابن أبي ذئب " أظن سقط من قلمه أو الناسخ لفظ " غير "، فقد أثبت هو نفسهروايته عنه في " الكاشف "! وقرن معه آخر!! وقد جاء من طريقين آخرين عن أبيهريرة مختصرا مرفوعا بلفظ: " يخرب الكعبة ذو السويقتين من الحبشة ". الطريقالأولى: عن الزهري عن سعيد بن المسيب عنه. أخرجه البخاري (١٥٩٦) ومسلم (٨/ ١٨٣) وأحمد (٢ / ٣١٠) والداني في " الفتن " (ق ٦٩ / ٢) وابن أبي شيبة(١٥ / ٤٧) والأزرقي (١ / ٢٧٦) .
