"By the One in whose hand is the soul of Abū al-Qāsim, ʿĪsá, son of Maryam, will surely descend as a just leader and a fair judge. He will break the cross, kill the pig, reconcile disputes, eliminate enmity, and wealth will be offered to him, but he will not accept it. Then, if he stood by my grave and said: 'O Muḥammad,' I would respond to him." It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá in his "Musnad" (4/1552): Aḥmad ibn ʿĪsá narrated to us, Ibn Wahb informed us from Abū Ṣakhr that Saʿīd al-Maqburī informed him that he heard Abū Hurayrah say: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is good, all its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs except for Abū Ṣakhr—who is Ḥumayd ibn Ziyād al-Kharrāṭ—from the men of Muslim alone. Some have spoken about him, but Ibn Ḥibbān, al-Ḥākim, and al-Būṣīrī authenticated his narrations, and al-Mundhirī considered him reliable. Refer to ḥadīth (83) in my book "Ṣaḥīḥ al-Targhīb wa-al-Tarhīb" (1/39). Al-Haythamī said (8/211): "It was narrated by Abū Yaʿlá, and its men are the men of the authentic collections." It was also recorded by al-Bukhārī (3448), Muslim (1/93-94), and others from the route of Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from Abū Hurayrah without the phrases: "and reconcile disputes, and eliminate enmity." The second part of these phrases is found in Muslim and others from the narration of ʿAṭāʾ ibn Mināʾ from Abū Hurayrah, and the last sentence has another route from him with the wording: ".. and he will come to my grave to greet me, and I will respond to him." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim. Al-Dhahabī and others among the later scholars authenticated it, and it contains two issues which I have explained
