I said: This is among his sound ḥadīth, for he was not alone in narrating it, and the ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥibbān agreed on its authenticity, as it has other chains from ʿĀʾishah and others, as will be mentioned (3156). Muslim also recorded it (8/168) through the route of Yūnus ibn Muḥammad: al-Qāsim ibn al-Faḍl al-Ḥadānī narrated to us from Muḥammad ibn Ziyād from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr that ʿĀʾishah said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) smiled (in another narration: laughed) in his sleep, so we said: O Messenger of Allāh! You did something in your sleep that you do not usually do? He said: "It is amazing, indeed some people from my nation will seek refuge in the House (in another narration: this House) with a man from Quraysh until when they are in the desert, they will be swallowed by the earth." We said: O Messenger of Allāh! The road gathers people? He said: "Yes, among them are those who are aware, those who are compelled, and the wayfarer. They will perish in one destruction and will be resurrected in different states. Allāh will resurrect them based on their intentions." Aḥmad also recorded it (6/105): Abū Saʿīd narrated to us, saying: al-Qāsim ibn al-Faḍl al-Ḥadānī narrated it similarly, and the other narration is his, with some differences in wording, and Muslim's narration is more authentic because Yūnus ibn Muḥammad - who is Abū Muḥammad al-Muʾaddib - is a reliable and firm narrator. His opponent, Abū Saʿīd - whose name is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUbayd, the client of Banū Hāshim - is truthful but may make mistakes. Al-Bukhārī also recorded it in "al-Buyūʿ" through another route from ʿĀʾishah in a shortened form. It is supported by the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar in al-Bukhārī (7108), Muslim (8/165), and Ibn Ḥibbān (7/210/7271) also in a shortened form. And it includes the addition without: "their intentions."
