it is permissible to say that Muslim narrated for him in the supporting evidences, and this follow-up is not with him? I have reservations about that. Among this is that al-Dhahabī said after his previous statement in "al-Siyar": "I said: His ḥadīth is considered among the ḥasan." This is what we understood or deduced from those various statements, and al-Dhahabī agreed with al-Ḥākim on the authentication of some of his ḥadīths, including the ḥadīth that was recently attributed to "Takhreej al-Mushkilah" (102).
- "A collar of fire on the Day of Resurrection." He said this to someone who saw him wearing a cloak adorned with silk. It was recorded by al-Bazzār (p. 172 - Zawāʾid al-Bazzār) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (no. 8166 - my copy) through two chains from Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh: narrated to us by al-Azhar ibn Rāshid: narrated to us by Sulaym ibn ʿĀmir from Jubayr ibn Nufayr from Muʿādh ibn Jabal who said: The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) saw a cloak adorned with silk and said: and mentioned it. Al-Ṭabarānī said: "It is not narrated from Muʿādh except through this isnād, and Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh is unique in narrating it." I said: He is trustworthy in his narration from the people of al-Shām, and this is among them, for al-Azhar ibn Rāshid is al-Hawzanī Abū al-Walīd al-Shāmī. Al-Dhahabī said: "Among the shaykhs of Ḥarīz ibn ʿUthmān, he narrates from ʿIṣmah ibn Qays, and he has companionship, I have not known anything wrong with him." I said: And al-Dhahabī refers to the statement of Abū Dāwūd: "The shaykhs of Ḥarīz are trustworthy."
