Allāh created Paradise with bricks of gold and bricks of silver, and its mortar is musk. He said to it: Speak, and it said: "Successful indeed are the believers" (Sūrah al-Muʾminūn, verse 1). The angels said: Blessed are you, abode of kings. Al-Bazzār said: Muḥammad ibn al-Muthanná narrated to us, al-Mughīrah ibn Salamah narrated to us, Wahīb narrated from al-Jurayrī from Abū Naḍrah from Abū Saʿīd, who mentioned it as a mawqūf [narration]. Then he said: Bishr ibn Ādam narrated to us, Yūnus ibn ʿUbayd Allāh al-ʿUmrī narrated to us, ʿAdī ibn al-Faḍl narrated to us, al-Jurayrī ... with it marfūʿ [narration]. Then al-Bazzār said: "We do not know anyone who raised it except ʿAdī ibn al-Faḍl, and he is not a reliable memorizer, and he is an early deceased shaykh." This is how al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Kathīr mentioned it in his "Tafsīr" from al-Bazzār with both his mawqūf and marfūʿ isnāds, and likewise it is in "Zawāʾid al-Bazzār" (317) except that it appeared as "Ḥajjāj ibn al-Minhāl: Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us" instead of "al-Mughīrah ibn Salamah: Wahīb narrated to us." So I do not know whether this is a scribe's error, or if al-Bazzār has two isnāds to al-Jurayrī, one through Wahīb from him, and the other through Ḥammād ibn Salamah from him, with Ibn Kathīr transmitting one and al-Haythamī the other. Whether it is this or that, both isnāds are authentic according to Muslim's conditions as mawqūf, but it is in the ruling of marfūʿ, as al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (10/397): "The men of the mawqūf are the men of the Ṣaḥīḥ, and Abū Saʿīd would not say this except by instruction." And ʿAdī ibn al-Faḍl, who raised it, is al-Taymī Abū Ḥātim al-Baṣrī, agreed upon as weak. But al-Mundhirī said (4/252): "Wahīb ibn Khālid followed him in raising it from al-Jurayrī with it, and his wording: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said:
