the authentication of Ibn Ḥibbān is not relied upon by scholars! then we saw that he himself authenticated him, so he authenticated this Nabīṭ following him, and he has only one narrator, yet he is weak. Allāh has affairs in His creation. what further confirms its rejection is the following witness for the ḥadīth of the chapter: 2 - As for the ḥadīth of Abū Kāhil, it is narrated by al-Faḍl ibn ʿAṭāʾ from al-Faḍl ibn Shuʿayb from Manẓūr from Abū Muʿādh from Abū Kāhil who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ..., and he mentioned a long ḥadīth, in which it states: "Know, O Abū Kāhil, that whoever prays for forty days and forty nights in congregation, catching the first takbīrah, it is incumbent upon Allāh to quench his thirst on the Day of Thirst." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī (18/361-362) and al-ʿUqaylī (p. 353) in the biography of this al-Faḍl, and he said: "Its isnād is unknown, and there is a problem with it." al-Mundhirī also quoted it in full in "al-Targhīb" (4/139-140) from the narration of al-Ṭabarānī, then said: "It is, in its entirety, rejected, and what supports some of it has been mentioned in various places in this book, and Allāh knows best its condition." in summary: the ḥadīth with its four chains from Anas is ḥasan at the very least, and the remaining chains, if they do not strengthen it, will not weaken it. And Allāh, the Exalted, knows best. then I saw that al-Bayhaqī (may Allāh have mercy on him) asserted that Ḥabīb in the first chain is Ḥabīb ibn Abī Ḥabīb al-Bajalī Abū ʿUmayr, and that whoever said in the isnād: "Ḥabīb ibn Abī Thābit" has erred. then he narrated it from the path of Ṭuʿmah, and from the path of Khālid ibn Ṭahmān correctly. one strengthens the other as previously mentioned.
