* "O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? Most hateful it is with Allāh that you say what you do not do." * May Allāh rectify and guide him.

- "When two men from the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) would meet, they would not part until one of them recited to the other: * 'By time, indeed, mankind is in loss' *, then one would greet the other with peace." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (2/11/2/5256): Muḥammad ibn Hishām al-Mustamlī narrated to us: ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿĀʾishah narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated from Thābit al-Bunānī from Abū Madīnah al-Dārimī—who was a Companion—who said: ... and he mentioned it. And he said: "It is not narrated from Abū Madīnah except through this isnād. Ibn al-Madīnī said: The name of Abū Madīnah is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥafṣ." I say: And this isnād is authentic, its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim, except for Muḥammad ibn Hishām al-Mustamlī, who is Abū Jaʿfar al-Marwazī known as Ibn Abī al-Damīk, the mustamlī of al-Ḥasan ibn ʿArafah, who died in the year (289), al-Khaṭīb mentioned him (3/361-362) and declared him trustworthy. And al-Dāraqutnī said: There is no harm in him. And the ḥadīth was mentioned by al-Haythamī in "al-Majmaʿ" (10/307) and he said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ', and its men are the men of the authentic collections except for Ibn ʿĀʾishah, and he is trustworthy."
