that Abū Salamah was known and that he was indeed the same person, so I retracted the hesitation mentioned, and I proceeded to authenticate the ḥadīth, and all praise is due to Allāh, the One who grants success. The ḥadīth is: "No one is ever afflicted with anxiety or sorrow and says: O Allāh, I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, the son of Your maidservant, my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed, and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or taught to any of Your creation, or revealed in Your Book, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the dispeller of my sorrow, and the remover of my anxiety, except that Allāh will remove his anxiety and sorrow, and replace it with relief. It was said: O Messenger of Allāh, should we not learn it? He said: Yes, it is fitting for whoever hears it to learn it."

It was narrated by Aḥmad (3712), al-Ḥārith ibn Abī Usāmah in his Musnad (p. 251 of his additions), Abū Yaʿlá (folio 156/1), al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (3/74/1), Ibn Ḥibbān in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (2372), and al-Ḥākim (1/509) through the chain of Faḍl ibn Marzūq who reported from Abū Salamah al-Juhanī from al-Qāsim ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from his father from ʿAbd Allāh who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "A ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth according to the conditions of Muslim, if it is free from the disconnection of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh from his father, as there is a difference of opinion regarding his hearing from his father." Al-Dhahabī critiqued it by saying: "I say: And Abū Salamah is unknown, and he has no narration in the six books." I say: And Abū Salamah al-Juhanī was mentioned by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Taʿjīl" and he said:
