is attributed to his father Yasār, and this occurs frequently in isnāds. A mistake could occur if it was said: Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Maqburī, as this would be a clear contradiction. However, this would only be considered if Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd did not have a narration from Saʿīd al-Maqburī. In reality, his narration from him is in Muslim, just as his narration from Saʿīd ibn Yasār is in "the two Ṣaḥīḥs." Therefore, there is no impediment for Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd—the reliable and trustworthy Anṣārī—to have narrated the ḥadīth from both Saʿīds from Abū Hurayrah! Nothing prevents this, if ʿUbayd al-Qaysī were trustworthy. However, I do not know him, although I suspect he is Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from whom Qutaybah narrated, as he is from this generation. Ibn Ḥibbān authenticated him (8/430), and Allāh knows best.

"You have adhered to the sunnah," ʿUmar said to ʿUqbah when he wiped over his leather socks from one Friday to the next while traveling.
