- "Whoever fears that they will not wake up at the end of the night should perform Witr at the beginning, and whoever hopes to wake up at the end should perform Witr at the end of the night, for the prayer at the end of the night is witnessed, and that is better." Narrated by Muslim (2/174-175), Abū ʿAwānah (2/317), al-Tirmidhī (456), Ibn Mājah (1/360), as well as ʿAbd al-Razzāq in "al-Muṣannaf" (4623), Ibn Naṣr in "Qiyām al-Layl" (p. 116), Ibn al-Jārūd in "al-Muntaqá" (269), Ibn Khuzaymah (1086), al-Bayhaqī (3/35), and Aḥmad (3/389) through the route of ʿAbd al-Razzāq, all from al-Aʿmash from Abū Sufyān from Jābir who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. Abū al-Zubayr also narrated it from Jābir in a similar manner. Narrated by Muslim, Abū ʿAwānah, and al-Bayhaqī through the route of Maʿqil ibn ʿUbayd Allāh from him. Ibn Lahīʿah also followed up from Abū al-Zubayr who said: I asked Jābir about a man who performs Witr after ʿIshāʾ and then sleeps? Jābir said: and he mentioned it. Narrated by Aḥmad (3/348).

- "1 - Any Muslim man who frees a Muslim man, it will be his ransom from the Fire, each part of him will ransom a part of him. 2 - And any Muslim man who frees two Muslim women, they will be his ransom from the Fire, each part of them will ransom a part of him. 3 - And any Muslim woman who frees a Muslim woman, it will be her ransom from the Fire, each part of her will ransom a part of her."
