and part of it is supported by the ḥadīth of Abū Ḥumayd al-Sāʿidī that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Be moderate in seeking the world, for everyone will have what is destined for them from it." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim and al-Bayhaqī through the route of al-Rabīʿ ibn Sulaymān: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb narrated to us: Sulaimān ibn Bilāl informed us: Rabīʿah ibn Abī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān told me from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Saʿīd ibn Suwayd from him. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of the two shaykhs." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: However, it is only according to the criteria of Muslim alone, for al-Bukhārī did not narrate anything from this ʿAbd al-Malik. He was followed by Hishām ibn ʿAmmār: Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us from ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah from Rabīʿah ibn Abī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān with it in the wording: "what is created for him from it." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (2142) and al-Qaḍāʿī in "Musnad al-Shihāb" (folio 60/2) and the phrase "from it" does not appear in Ibn Mājah. Then I came across a corroboration for Ibn Abī Hilāl, narrated by Wahb ibn Jarīr: Shuʿbah narrated to us from Ibn al-Munkadir with it: It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (3/156 and 7/158) from Isḥāq ibn Banān: Ḥubaysh ibn Mubashshir narrated to us: Wahb ibn Jarīr narrated it. He said: "It is rare from the ḥadīth of Shuʿbah, uniquely narrated by Ḥubaysh from Wahb." I say: Wahb is trustworthy from the men of the two shaykhs. And Ḥubaysh is trustworthy from the men of "al-Tahdhīb."
