"And whoever sits, there is no harm." The caller to prayer says this at the end of his call on a cold day. It was recorded by Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Musnad" (2/5/2): Khālid ibn Makhlad informed us, saying: Sulaimān ibn Bilāl narrated to me, saying: Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd narrated to me, saying: Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ḥārith (original: ibn Naʿīm ibn al-Ḥārith) informed me from Naʿīm al-Naḥḥām - from Banū ʿAdī ibn Kaʿb - who said: The call for the morning prayer was made on a cold day while I was in my wife's cloak, so I said: I wish the caller would announce, "And whoever sits, there is no harm," and the caller of the Prophet ﷺ announced it. I said: And this is an authentic isnād, rare according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs. It was also recorded by al-Bayhaqī (1/398) through the route of Ibn Abī Uways: Sulaimān ibn Bilāl narrated it to me with the addition: "And that was during the time of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) at the end of his call." And he said: "Al-Awzāʿī followed him from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd, except that he said: When he said, 'Prayer is better than sleep,' he added, 'And whoever sits, there is no harm.'" I said: This addition was narrated by Hishām ibn ʿAmmār: ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Ḥabīb ibn Abī al-ʿAshrīn narrated to us, and al-Awzāʿī narrated it. It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī. And Hishām and ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd are weak in this regard. And to this, al-Haythamī refers by saying after he mentioned it with this addition:
