and if that is the case, then why do many Muslims today—including some of the elite—not enjoy, even though they know what those noble Companions did not know at first, including his (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) saying in some of those ḥadīths: "ʿUmrah has entered into Ḥajj until the Day of Resurrection." Do they not fear that they might be afflicted by the supplication of ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā)?!

- "Was there not among you a compassionate man?!" It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "His Ḥadīth from al-Nasāʾī" (316/1): Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn Ḥarb al-Marwazī informed us, saying: ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn Wāqid informed us from his father, from Yazīd al-Naḥwī, from ʿIkrimah, from Ibn ʿAbbās: that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) sent a detachment that gained spoils, and among them was a man who said to them: I am not one of them, I fell in love with a woman and followed her, so let me look at her once, then do with me as you wish. They looked and found a tall, dark-skinned woman, and he said to her: "Submit, Ḥabīsh, before life runs out." "Do you see if I followed you and reached you with adornment or caught up with you with the stranglers, was it not right to grant a lover who endured the hardship of night travel and the obstacles?" She said: "Yes, may I be your ransom." Then they brought him forward and struck his neck, and the woman came and stood over him, gasped a gasp, and then died. When they returned to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), they informed him of that, and he said, and mentioned it. Then I saw it in "al-Siyar" by al-Nasāʾī (2/47/1-2) with this chain, except that he said: "Do you see if I followed you and reached you... [with adornment or caught up with you] (1) with the stranglers, was it not right to grant a lover... who endured the hardship of night travel and the obstacles."
