he sang, saying: "Oh, how I wish I could spend a night in a valley surrounded by idhkhir and jaleel, and could I one day return to the waters of Majannah, and could Shamah and Tufail appear to me." ʿĀʾishah said: "I went to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and informed him, and he mentioned it." Aḥmad added in a narration: "He said: 'A child would be born in al-Juḥfah, and before reaching puberty, the fever would strike him.' The context is from Aḥmad, and its chain is authentic according to the criteria of the six [major ḥadīth collections]." And he has another route from her in his collection (6/239-240). Its chain is good. (Benefit): al-Juḥfah: with the jīm pronounced with ḍammah, is a large village eighty-two miles from Makkah, and it was called (Mahīʿah) as in "al-Qāmūs." At that time, its inhabitants were Jews, and there were no Muslims there, which is why the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) prayed for the fever of Madīnah to be transferred there, as Ibn Ḥibbān said, and similarly in "Sharḥ Muslim" by al-Nawawī.
- "O Allāh, forgive Ḥudhayfah and his mother." It was narrated by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in "al-Tahajjud" (2/60): "Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ʿAbdullāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq al-Adhraʿī narrated to us, Zayd ibn al-Ḥabbāb narrated to us, Isrāʾīl informed us from Maysarah ibn Ḥabīb from al-Minhāl ibn ʿAmr from Zur ibn Ḥubaysh from Ḥudhayfah ibn al-Yamān who said: 'I came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and prayed Maghrib with him. When he finished, he continued to pray until he prayed ʿIshāʾ, then he left. I followed him, and he said: Who is this? I said: Ḥudhayfah, and he mentioned it.'"
