"Seek the hour that is hoped for on Friday after the afternoon prayer until sunset." Narrated by al-Tirmidhī (no. 489), al-Ḥasan ibn Shaqīq in "al-Muntaqá min al-Amālī" (42/2), Ibn ʿAdī (300/2 and 325/1), and Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/176-177) from Muḥammad ibn Ḥumayd from Mūsá ibn Wardān from Anas ibn Mālik as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. Ibn ʿAdī said: "Muḥammad ibn Ḥumayd - and it is said: Ḥammād ibn Abī Ḥumayd - his ḥadīth is comparable, and despite his weakness, his ḥadīth is written." He also said in another place: "No one narrates from Mūsá except Muḥammad ibn Abī Ḥumayd, and Muḥammad is lenient." I said: Yes, he is lenient, but he has been followed up, and perhaps al-Tirmidhī indicated this by saying afterwards: "This ḥadīth is strange from this aspect, and it has been narrated from Anas from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) from other than this aspect." The follower is Ibn Lahīʿah, and it was extracted by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (1/258/747) and in "al-Awsaṭ" (1/10/135 - according to my numbering) through the path of Yaḥyá ibn Bukayr: Ibn Lahīʿah narrated to us from Mūsá ibn Wardān with it, and he added at the end: "And it is like this, meaning: his fist." Al-Ṭabarānī said:
