when he intended to leave, he came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to him: "O Qays, do not come on the Day of Resurrection with a camel on your neck that has a loud voice, or a cow that has a moo, or a sheep that has a bleat, and do not be like Abū Righāl." The ḥadīth. It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī (4/157) from Hishām ibn Saʿd with his isnād from Qays. I say: This isnād is good, despite the well-known disagreement regarding Hishām, and he has placed Qays in the story instead of his father Saʿd. If he preserved it [correctly], otherwise, the correct version is what is in the two previous narrations that it was Saʿd.

"A person does not open a door of begging for himself except that Allāh opens for him a door of poverty. It is better for a man to take his rope, go to the mountain, gather firewood on his back, and eat from it than to ask people, whether they give or withhold." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/418): Qutaybah narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad narrated to us from al-ʿAlāʾ—meaning—ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from his father from Abū Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, and Ibn Ḥibbān authenticated it (3378 - al-Iḥsān). And ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad is al-Darāwardī, about whom there is some discussion that does not harm [the narration], and Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mujbir followed him in the first part of it from al-ʿAlāʾ with it. It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá (6691) and Ibn ʿAdī (299/2) and he said: "And Ibn Mujbir, despite his weakness, his ḥadīth is written." I say: But he was declared a liar by Muslimah ibn Qāsim and al-Khaṭīb, so his following is of no value, thus the reliance..
