that Allāh ﵎ mentioned regarding the Christians: "They took their rabbis and monks as lords besides Allāh," as explained by Fakhr al-Rāzī in his "Tafsīr." The third group: those who obey the rulers in what they legislate for the people, such as systems and decisions that contradict the sharīʿah, like communism and similar ideologies. The worst among them are those who attempt to show that these are in agreement with the sharīʿah and not contrary to it. This is a calamity that has affected many who claim knowledge and reform in this era, leading many of the common people to be deceived by it. Thus, the previous verse applies to them and their followers: "They took their rabbis and monks as lords besides Allāh." We ask Allāh for protection and safety.
- "When one of you visits his brother and sits with him, he should not leave until he asks his permission." Narrated by Abū al-Shaykh in "Tārīkh Iṣbahān" (113): Isḥāq ibn Muḥammad ibn Ḥakīm told us: Yaḥyá ibn Wāqid told us: Ibn Abī Ghuniyah told us: My father told us: Jablah ibn Saḥīm told us from Ibn ʿUmar who said: The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic; all its men are trustworthy and well-known. As for Jablah ibn Saḥīm, he is trustworthy and al-Bukhārī included him in "al-Adab al-Mufrad." And Ibn Abī Ghuniyah is Yaḥyá ibn ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Ḥumayd ibn Abī Ghuniyah; he is trustworthy and among the men of the two Shaykhs, as is his father ʿAbd al-Malik. As for Yaḥyá ibn Wāqid, Abū al-Shaykh translated him, saying:
