It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá (3/1203), and from him by Abū al-Shaykh in "Akhlaq al-Nabī ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam" (p. 213), and from this by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Dalāʾil" (216). Al-Haythamī considered its isnād to be good, as mentioned under ḥadīth (544), but I have reservations about it because Abū Maʿshar—whose name is Najīḥ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sindī—was said by the ḥāfiẓ to be "weak, aged, and confused." There is another route for the last part of her ḥadīth, and supporting evidence previously mentioned and documented under ḥadīth (544). As for the description of the angel and his girdle, I did not find any supporting evidence to strengthen it, thus it is objectionable, and for this reason, I included it in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" (2045).

- "when he shook hands with a man, he would not withdraw his hand until the other was the one to release the hand of the Messenger of Allāh ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam." It was narrated through various routes from Anas ibn Mālik (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu): the first is from Hilāl ibn Abī Hilāl al-Qasmilī from him. It was recorded by al-Khaṭīb in "al-Muwaḍḍiḥ" (2/225 - Aleppo copy) from Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar al-Bukhārī who reported from Hilāl ibn Abī Hilāl al-Qasmilī... and the wording is his. I say: al-Qasmilī is weak, and I do not know the narrator from him. The second is from Zayd al-ʿAmī from him. It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2/80) who found it strange, Ibn Mājah (3716), Ibn Saʿd in "al-Ṭabaqāt" (1/378), and al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (13/245/3680 - al-Maktab..
