that al-Bukhārī heard from ʿAlī and Ibn Masʿūd, and they both passed away about twenty years before Abū Hurayrah. The ḥadīth has supporting evidence from the narration of Abū Umāmah, raised to the Prophet. It was recorded by Muslim (3/94), al-Tirmidhī (2344), and Aḥmad (5/262) through the route of ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār, who said: Shaddād ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, saying: I heard Abū Umāmah with it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth." I say: There is also discussion regarding ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār, so his ḥadīth is strengthened by the first route. And Allāh, the Exalted, is the One who grants success.
- "Indeed, kinship is a branch from the Most Merciful, connected, having an eloquent tongue that speaks as it wishes. Whoever maintains it, Allāh maintains him, and whoever severs it, Allāh severs him." It was recorded by al-Ṭayālisī in "his Musnad" (2550), who said: Shuʿbah narrated to us, saying: ʿUthmān ibn al-Mughīrah narrated to us, saying: Abū al-ʿAnbas narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr - at al-Wahṭ - said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) bent his finger for us and said: then he mentioned it. I say: This is a good isnād, its men are trustworthy, the men of al-Bukhārī except for Abū al-ʿAnbas - who is al-Thaqafī - as Ibn Ḥibbān deemed him trustworthy, and a group of trustworthy narrators reported from him, so he is relied upon among the Tābiʿīn, especially since his ḥadīth has many supporting evidences, some of which were mentioned earlier under number (1602). He was also followed by Qatādah from Abū Thamāmah al-Thaqafī from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr with it, raised similarly. It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/189, 209) and others, and its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim except for Abū Thamāmah al-Thaqafī, whom Ibn Ḥibbān deemed trustworthy (5/567), and al-Haythamī attributed it (8/150) to al-Ṭabarānī as well. Refer to its supporting evidences in "Takhrīj al-Ḥalāl wa-al-Ḥarām" (405) and the previously mentioned ḥadīth under number..
