should I drink, and what should I avoid? He said: What are they? I said: Al-Bitʿ and Al-Mizr. He said: What are Al-Bitʿ and Al-Mizr? He said: As for Al-Bitʿ, it is a drink made from honey, and as for Al-Mizr, it is a drink made from corn. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... " and he mentioned it, but it is not in Aḥmad: "for I have forbidden ...". I said: And this is a good isnād. Abū Burdah ibn Abī Mūsá followed him in it from his father in a similar manner. It was recorded by Muslim (6/99-100), al-Nasāʾī, and Aḥmad (4/407, 410, 415-416, and 417). The first part of it has a corroborating report from the ḥadīth of Buraydah, raised [to the Prophet]. It was recorded by Muslim (6/98) and Abū Dāwūd (2/132). The second part of it was also recorded from the ḥadīth of Buraydah, as well as ʿĀʾishah and Ibn ʿUmar.

- "Do not drink in gourds, nor in pitch-coated vessels, nor in hollowed stumps, but ferment in water skins. They said: O Messenger of Allāh! What if it becomes strong in the water skins?
