I said: This is a sound isnād according to the criteria of the two shaykhs.

"By Allāh, you will not find anyone more just towards you after me than I am." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/65): Muḥammad ibn Muṣʿab narrated to us, al-Awzāʿī narrated to us from al-Zuhrī from Abū Salamah and al-Ḍaḥḥāk al-Mashraqī from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī who said: "While the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was distributing wealth one day, Dhū al-Khuwayṣirah—a man from Banū Tamīm—came to him and said: O Muḥammad! Be just, for by Allāh, you have not been just today! The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: (and he mentioned it) three times. ʿUmar said: O Messenger of Allāh! Do you permit me to strike his neck? He said: No, he has companions whose prayer one of you would belittle compared to theirs..." the ḥadīth. I said: This isnād contains trustworthy men, the men of the two shaykhs, except for Muḥammad ibn Muṣʿab, who is weak. However, the ḥadīth is authentic, as it was recorded by Muslim (3/122) through the route of Yūnus from Ibn Shihāb with a similar narration, but it does not contain the ḥadīth of the chapter. It is supported by the ḥadīth of al-Azraq ibn Qays from Sharīk ibn Shihāb who said: "I used to wish to meet a man from the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) to ask him about the Khawārij. I met Abū Barzah al-Aslamī on a day of Eid among a group of his companions, and I asked him: Did you hear the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) speak about the Khawārij? Abū Barzah said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh with my own ears, and I saw him with my own eyes. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was brought wealth (original: "bimall," which is an error. In another narration: "dinars from the land"), and he distributed it. A man with tied hair, wearing two white garments, came, and he gave to those on his right and left but gave him nothing. The man came from behind and said: By Allāh, O Muḥammad! You have not been just, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)..." and he mentioned it. It was recorded by al-Ṭayālisī (2/183-184) and from him by al-Nasāʾī (2/174-175)
