that Abū Yūsuf said: "ʿAmr" with a wāw. And Allāh knows best. I found another witness for it with the wording: "Do not eat while reclining nor step over people's necks on Friday." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (52/1 - its additions) and from him by Ibn ʿAsākir (13/196/2) from Abū al-Yamān al-Ḥakam ibn Nāfiʿ who said: Arṭāʾah ibn al-Mundhir informed us from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Rurayq from ʿAmr ibn al-Aswad from Abū al-Dardāʾ as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. And he said: "It is not narrated from Abū al-Dardāʾ except through this isnād, and Arṭāʾah is the only one who narrated it." I said: He is trustworthy, as are the rest of its narrators except for ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Rurayq. (Thus with negligence), and it appeared in "Ibn ʿAsākir" with the second letter clarified in his attribution: (al-Alhānī) and I did not recognize him. Al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (5/24): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' and its men are trustworthy." (Note): "while reclining" is how it appeared restricted in "al-Zawāʾid" from reclining, and it appeared in "al-Majmaʿ" and "Ibn ʿAsākir" as "leaning" from leaning, and al-Haythamī categorized it under: "Chapter on eating while leaning." And Allāh knows best. Then certain matters became clear to me: First, that "ʿAbd Allāh ibn Rurayq" had two errors: one from the copyist, and the correct narration is: "ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ruzayq," as in a good copy of "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (1/3/33 - my numbering). The other: from one of the narrators, his name was reversed, and the correct one is: "Ruzayq Abū ʿAbd Allāh," as pointed out by al-Amīr Ibn Mākūlā in "al-Ikmāl" (4/54), and they also mentioned it in the biographical books, such as: "al-Tārīkh," "al-Jarḥ," and "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān" (4/239) and others
