"He forbade," and in another wording: "He prohibited drinking while standing." Narrated by Muslim (6/110), Abū Dāwūd (no. 3717), al-Tirmidhī (3/111), al-Dārimī (2/120-121), Ibn Mājah (2/338), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Sharḥ al-Maʿānī" (2/357) and "al-Mushkil" (3/18), al-Ṭayālisī (2/332), Aḥmad (3/118, 131, 147, 199, 214, 250, 277, 291), Abū Yaʿlá (156/2, 158/2, 159/2), and "al-Ḍiyāʾ" in "al-Mukhtārah" (205/2) through the route of Qatādah from Anas as marfūʿ, and the last two added: "and eating while standing." In their chain of narration is Maṭar al-Warrāq, who is weak, and he was opposed, for in the narration of Muslim and others: "Qatādah said: We asked: What about eating? He replied: That is worse and more detestable." I say: Their narration is interpolated. Qatādah has two other chains for it: he narrated it from Abū ʿĪsá al-Aswārī from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, with the second wording. Muslim and al-Ṭaḥāwī recorded it. Then he narrated it from Abū Muslim al-Judhamī from al-Jārūd ibn al-ʿAlāʾ. Recorded by al-Ṭaḥāwī and al-Tirmidhī, who said: "A ḥasan gharīb ḥadīth." It has a corroborating narration from Abū Hurayrah similar to it. Recorded by Aḥmad (2/327) and al-Ṭaḥāwī, and its chain is authentic.
