Abū Hāshim (from Abū Majlaz) from Qays ibn ʿAbbād from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: (and he mentioned it). Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say, rather it is according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim], for all its narrators are trustworthy according to their criteria. Abū Hāshim al-Rummānī's name is Yaḥyá, and his father's name is Dīnār, though it is said otherwise. He was followed by Rūḥ ibn al-Qāsim from Abū Hāshim with it elevated. It was produced by Abū Isḥāq al-Muzakkī in "al-Fawāʾid al-Muntaqāh" (1/150/1) from ʿĪsá ibn Shuʿayb: Rūḥ ibn al-Qāsim informed us. This isnād is ḥasan, Rūḥ ibn al-Qāsim is a trustworthy ḥāfiẓ from the narrators of the two Shaykhs as well. ʿĪsá ibn Shuʿayb—who is the grammarian from Basra and blind—is truthful but has errors. He was followed by al-Walīd ibn Marwān from Abū Hāshim with it similarly. It was produced by Abū Bakr al-Shāfiʿī in "al-Fawāʾid" (3/1/257/1). This al-Walīd is unknown. He was followed by Qays ibn al-Rabīʿ from Abū Hāshim with it elevated. It was mentioned by Abū Nuʿaym in his "al-Yawm wa-al-Laylah." Qays is poor in memory. He was followed by Sufyān al-Thawrī from Abū Hāshim with it. It was produced by Ibn al-Sunnī (28), and al-Maʿmarī (1) from Yūsuf ibn Asbāṭ from him. But this Yūsuf is weak, and he was opposed by ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī, who said: Sufyān narrated to us
