it was also recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/513) who said: "Its isnād is authentic!" and al-Dhahabī agreed with him! Then I found another chain that strengthens it, if Allāh wills, as al-Bazzār said in his "Musnad" (p. 238 - Zawāʾid): Yūsuf ibn Mūsá narrated to us, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mughrah narrated to us from al-Aʿmash from Ayyūb from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr in a marfūʿ form with the wording: "The Hour will not be established until immorality, severing of ties of kinship, and bad neighborliness appear, and the trustworthy one is betrayed." It was said: "O Messenger of Allāh! How will the believer be?" He said: "Like the bee, it lands without causing corruption, eats without breaking, and leaves behind a pleasant fragrance." And al-Bazzār said: "We do not know of this chain except this one, and al-Aʿmash did not narrate from Abū Ayyūb except this isnād." I said: It appears here as "Abū Ayyūb," whereas previously it was "Ayyūb" without the honorific title, and it is likely that the correct version includes it, as al-Bazzār previously said: "And al-Aʿmash did not narrate from Abū Ayyūb except this isnād." It is known that al-Aʿmash frequently narrated from Ayyūb—who is al-Sakhtiyānī—to the extent that when they mentioned the narrators from him, they listed him first. If it were correct that al-Aʿmash's teacher in this isnād was Ayyūb, al-Bazzār would not have said that. So who is Abū Ayyūb in this context? It appears to me that he is Abū Ayyūb al-Marāghī al-Azdī al-Baṣrī, who narrated from a group of Companions, including Ibn ʿAmr, and he is a trustworthy narrator from the two Shaykhs. The discussion on this chain with additional benefit has already been mentioned under ḥadīth (2253). And for part of it, there is another chain narrated by ʿAmmār ibn Muḥammad from ʿAbd al-Salām ibn Muslim Abū Masʿūd from Manṣūr ibn Zādhān from Abū Juḥayfah from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr with the wording:
