(3/84): Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, Shuʿbah informed us from ʿAmr ibn Murrah from Abū al-Bakhtarī from a man from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī in a marfūʿ form, Shuʿbah said: I narrated this ḥadīth to Qatādah, and he said: What is this? ʿAmr ibn Murrah from Abū al-Bakhtarī from a man from Abū Saʿīd! Abū Naḍrah narrated it to me with it except that he said: "if he witnessed it or knew it." Abū Saʿīd said: This led me to ride to Muʿāwiyah and fill his ears, then I returned. Shuʿbah said: Four people narrated this ḥadīth to me from Abū Naḍrah: Qatādah, Abū Salamah, al-Jarīrī, and another man." I said: And this is also a sound chain. There is another route for the ḥadīth narrated by al-Muʿallá ibn Ziyād al-Qurdūsī from al-Ḥasan from Abū Saʿīd with the wording: "if he sees it or witnesses it, then it neither brings closer to death nor distances from provision, or he speaks the truth, or mentions something great." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/50, 87) and Abū Yaʿlá (88/1-2) and al-Ḥasan explicitly stated the narration with him, so its isnād is sound. Then Aḥmad narrated it (3/71) from the route of ʿAlī ibn Zayd from al-Ḥasan from him with it. without the addition. The men of this route are trustworthy except that al-Ḥasan is a mudallis and he narrated it with ʿanʿanah, yet it is acceptable as supporting evidence
